Greenway Games 2022

This past october we hosted our last comminuty event of 2022. A Stage race in and around the greenways of Charlotte. We had fantastic support from Cadence Collection, Minthill Ortho and DeFeet Socks. With all proceed going towards LoveYourBrain, a non-profit that helps educate, engage, and empower people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Stage 1: Mountain Bike

We Rolled out of Resident Culture and road as agroup to the first stage at Park Road Park Trails. One of our good friends let us use thier backyards as the start/finish line as it butted up to the trails. Racers and Hecklers took thier positions and the stage was underway. with everone on a different style bike it made for a fun and sketchy lap around the green loop. course highlights included a bridge, creek crossing, extra credit basketball, and a mechanical or two.

Stage 2: Cross

with a mix of road bikes to single speed mountian bikes stage two was bound to be a grind. six laps around a mini cross crouse in Revolution Park in West Charlotte. Oh, did i mention there was a Table Top ramp you had to navigate? With a Le Mons start racers jumped on thier bikes to hit tight turns, steep hill sides, and the table top. with grat excitment everyone stayed up and managed to rider the table top atleast once.

Stage 3: Urban

The final showdown had riders ripping around the trailhead of Stawert Creek Greenway. Hitting fast corners, splitting between oak trees and dodging bubble cannons had racers reaching max heart rate. The Hecklers brought the party for the final stage with rave music and cowbells. During the eight laps racers to play cornhole for extra credit points to try and leap frog their frienemies in the overall standings.

To wrap up the event we rolled over to Rhino MArket on West Moorehead. the Crew grabbed some Food and Drinks as the team tallyed the points and gathered raffle prizes. the top three Men and Women took home a custom Bottle from Cadence Collection and handmade Trophies. Fantacsic day on bikes, good people and a friendly competition for a great cause. stoked to see what next year brings for this event.
